Crockpot Boston Baked Beans

2 lbs (4 cups) dried Great Northern or Navy Beans
1 lb salt pork or bacon
1 Tbsp salt
1 cup molasses
3 Tbsps sugar
1 cup water

1. Soak beans overnight or quick soak.  Drain.  Cover beans with fresh water, bring to boil and simmer 2 hours.
2.  Line bottom of slow cooker with strips of salt pork or bacon.  Add beans.  Cut remaining salt pork or bacon into 1" pieces and bury in beans in pot.
3.  Combine salt, molasses and sugar in a bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir.  Pour mixture over beans.
4.  Cover and cook on low heat for 10 - 12 hours or on high heat for 5 - 6 hours.
