POTATOES AND HAM AU GRATIN

2 to 3 pounds of potatoes (about 10 medium)
1 pound cooked ham, cut into cubes
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup grated swiss cheese
2 cups milk
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray 9" x 13" or large casserole dish with nonstick spray. Peel potatoes and slice thinly. Layer one third of the potatoes in the pan. Cover with half of the ham cubes. Sprinkle with one third of each of the cheeses. Repeat layers. Top layer should be one third of the potatoes, one third of each of the cheeses. Place milk in an open 1 quart jar* and heat in microwave for 2 minutes. Add flour and seasonings to milk. Screw lid on tightly and shake jar until flour is no longer lumpy. Slowly pour milk mixture over potatoes in baking dish. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake 45 - 60 minutes until potatoes pierce easily with a fork.

Makes 6 - 8 servings.

*if you don't have a jar with a tight fitting lid, you can use a glass measuring cup or bowl and whisk the flour and seasonings until smooth.
