BULKOGI (Korean Stir Fried Beef)

2 pounds steak meat, very thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
2 onions, chopped
1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 large carrots, peeled and grated

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to cook. Mixture can be kept overnight and cooked the next day. Preheat a large frying pan that has a cover. Put everything, including the liquid into the pan. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until meat is brown but still juicy. Serve over hot rice. If more liquid is desired, you can increase the soy sauce to 1/2 cup and also add a little water. We like our Bulkogi saucy, not dry!
