1 can (14.5 oz) cut green beans or 2 cups frozen cut green beans (about 1/2 pound)
1 small onion, sliced 1/4" thick
1 can (14.6 oz) stewed tomatoes
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 cloves of garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
Drain and discard liquid from can of green beans. Place beans and onions in crockpot. Top with chicken pieces. In medium bowl, combine tomatoes (including liquid), tomato paste, Italian seasoning and garlic. Pour over the chicken. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 5 - 6 hours or high heat for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Serve over cooked pasta (fettuccine or spaghetti).
INSTANT POT VERSION:
Do not drain can of green of green beans. Mix 1 cup of water with tomatoes, tomato paste, annd spices. Include 2 cups pasta in instant pot.
Layer in instant pot as follows:
Green beans with liquid, chicken, onions, pasta, top with tomato mixture. Cook at high pressure for 15 minutes. Natural pressure release for 15 minutes then release remaining pressure. Serve with Parmesan cheese.
