1 cup butter 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
3/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg green food coloring
1 teaspoon almond extract colored non-pareils or
1/4 teaspoon salt tiny candies
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and almond extract. Gradually blend in dry ingredients. Tint dough with a few drops of green food coloring. Mix well. Place tree plate (number 21) into cookie press. Fill press with dough. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle cookies with colored non-pareils or decorate with other tiny candies. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes. Remove at once to cooling racks.
