This recipe came from a dear friend while we lived in Colorado. The boys, along with Fred and I, enjoyed visiting the older couple and their horses on the little farm around the corner from our house.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup (or a little less) maple flavored syrup
1 teaspoon baking soda
large bowl of popped corn
Melt butter in pan, add sugar and syrup. Stir til sugar is dissolved and mixture starts to turn light amber color. Stir in baking soda until mixture gets puffy and turns darker in color. Pour over popped corn and stir til mixed.
